Finally! A Layout!
I belong to a group that issued a simple challenge - make a layout or card about summer.
What Summer Means to Me - a peaceful sunny day with clear blue skies and colorful flowers.
Cricut Cartridges: Plantin Schoolbook, Create a Critter, Accent Essentials
All cuts were outlined using Cricut markers. The sun was also outlined using dimensional glaze from The Stencil Company. The clouds were also chalked using chalk from The Stencial Company. Additional dimension was added to the flowers using Michael's brand flock. The grass is layered to give it a 3-dimensional effect. The sun is also 3-D. The center of the purple flower, the small cloud and the yellow flower are all pop-dotted for dimension.
I have a picture of Little Man running through the sprinklers as Daddy watered the flowers that I think I'll add later.

Baby Shower Album
In lightening speed, I created this baby shower album. It was a very quick turnabout but it was to help a friend out. I had travel plans and got sick along the way, but all in all, I got it done in the nick of time. Thanks to the help of my SOC sisters with words of encouragement! While the album has details, it's not my usual amount of details but I'm still pretty pleased with the outcome. The new Parents were very excited to receive it so it makes it all worthwhile.
Also, for the shower I created a gift journal and a gift bucket (instead of a gift bag.) The gift bucket contains an outfit for the new arrival and inside, there is another smaller matching jar with a gift card. The gift bucket and outfit are both monkey themed.

Thanks for looking!

Altered Journal Cover to include show invite and colors of Mother's sorority
The Album was a 12x12 Recollections brand from Michael's. We wanted to keep the plastic cover on it so I made an insert to personalize the album.
The first page of the album was borrowed from a sketch in the 2nd edition of the Cricut magazine on page 33. The original LO was a "DAD" layout and I made it a baby LO! ;-)
Daddy is a Kappa. The colors were chosen to represent his fraternity as well as one of his hobbies.
Mom is always accessorized and is an AKA. I wanted to make her page extra special.
To add a little extra bling, I added Stickles to the journaling spots and Glimmer Mist to the photo mats. The Pink Petaloo Flowers were also stained with Glimmer Mist to great the great color combo for this page. i-Rock gems were also included for a little extra bling.
This page was added to capture the colors of the shower invite. i-Rock gems were added througout this layout for some visual interest. Also a metal embellishment was added to page 2.
Best Wishes page - guests at the shower were ask to complete 3x5 index cards regarding their best wishes for the family. The edges of the journaling blocks were inked for a little extra pop.
The Sentiment was chalked with blue and green loose powder chalks.
Second page of the well wishes cards. The bottom layer was also chalked and heart shaped brads were added.
This page features a ribbon border offset with a Fiskars punch. I used my Gypsy to make a custom title for the page and used store purchased embellishments to tie it all together.
The train from the New Arrival cartridge was added to include the family surname across a 2-page LO. The wheels were embellished with brads.
The tree was flocked using Zig 2 way glue and green flock.
Cricut markers were used to outline the scalloped shape. The safety pins were shadowed using Kraft paper. The So Sweet sentiment was pop-dotted to add some dimension.
New Arrival Monkey on the gift bucket. I used an Easter gift bucket from Jo Ann's with a green top to create a gift bucket for the new addition. Within the gift bucket was an outfit and a matching canister with another gift inside.
Various ribbon cut at 5" adorns the handle.
Twine holds together the banner featuring the baby's name. The grass is cut from Plantin School book. The paper used to make the grass has a slight pattern.
K& Company flowers.

Love's in the Air!
Hello Everyone!
I hope you are enjoying a wonderful holiday! For those that have been snowed in for the week, hope your time was filled with making beautiful crafts!
In 2011, I haven't spent nearly enough time as I would like at my craft table. I did get some quick cards made for my display board at JoAnn's. I'm just getting started in this adventure and my Education Coordinator there has been great! These are idea cards for a children's Valentine's workshop. They are die cuts from K & Company and they are simply adorable!
Probably later this week, I'll post more Valentine's Day projects and some blog candy, too! If I reach 56 followers by Friday, the blog candy will include Cricut cartridges! We'll see how it goes!

The Card Feature on Plantin Schoolbook
Hello and Happy New Year!
I hope your holidays were beautifully blessed and Santa delivered lots of crafty treasures to you!
I'm SO excited! I just created my first card using the PBS card and envelope feature. (I've only had PBS the WHOLE time I've had my Cricut!) Yes, I'm a little slow and I didn't know the trick about putting the Cricut on "Fit to Page" so I was cutting teeny tiny envelopes (basically the size of gift cards) when my "E" was set to 5 inches but the card was cutting normally. Well, I can't leave a mystery unsolved! Thank goodness for other folks blogs and You Tube!
So, now that I'm running late. . I'll have to post the card later! I just had to share my excitement with folks who would truly understand! lol
Have a great day!

It's Christmas Time!
Hello There!
Do you know what time it is? It's CHRISTmas time! This is a time to reflect and give thanks for all that we have and to do good for others! I hope your holiday season is abundantly filled with all of the love, peace and hope you can stand!
As for me, I was "hoping" to make personalized Christmas cards for everyone, BUT, what do they say about good intentions and poor execution? Time just got away from me.
I'm stopping by today to share a few of my crafty creations with you. Please let me know what you think!
Retro Holiday card featuring Tim Holtz products and Stickles
Retro card featuring Tim Holtz Distressing Inks, Lottery Ticket, some ribbon and an Angel stamp
Friday Night Challenge from the SOC board - had to include a Woman, an embellishment and printed paper. Also had to include the words SOC on it. SOC are ribbon sliders.

All About Kids Swap
Recently participated in a Swap over at Split Coast Stampers MB. This is a 2-page 12x12 layout that is to be a boy (or kid) theme. It features Cricut cuts from Plantin Schoolbook for the letters, Mickey and Friends for the tree, B is for Boy for the Car and Every Day Paper Dolls for the tree. I also used chalk on the road and the clouds.

Birthday Card
I had to challenge myself to use some of my Cricut cuts that I've been holding onto.
This card features a Cricut Cut that says "Birthday Blessings" from the George & Basic Shapes cartridge.
I used Stickles to add the bling factor. The background is lightly embossed with a CB folder. I added glittery starts and a party hat to make things festive.
This really isn't one of my favorite or my best cards. I think my creative mojo was on low the day I made it. The picture didn't turn out so well. I'm hoping Santa brings me a new point & click camera for Chrismas.

Halloween Swap - not scary, just fun!
Hello Everyone!
Boy, where does time go? I didn't tend to neglect my Blog to this extent. lol
I've been busy lately participating in card swaps on the Cricut.com site and individual swaps within the different groups I belong to.
A Cricut.com friend and I did a personal swap and the items I sent her were all Halloween related. I used the October 31st cartridge and Stretch Your Imagination on the cuts I sent to her. I don't think I remembered to take pictures of all the cuts from October 31st but the rest are here including a Halloween card and tag I made. I think they turned out to be super cute! I hope you like them as well!
