Project #5 and Blog Candy.
I saw inspiration over at the Circut Circle MB's for this project. I can't remember who posted the card using the snowman so I can't give proper credit (sorry!). For this project, I wanted to challenge myself to create a fun LO using printed paper, a new Cricut Cartridge, which for me is Winter Frolic, old Cricut Cartridge, Doodlecharms and When It's Cold Outside and my ol' reliable GBS cartridge. I also wanted to incorporate the Diamond Dust that I used on my Christmas Glass block project.
Once I got started, this project came together fairly easily and was alot of fun. I enlisted my Design Studio (prefer it over my Gypsy) to size the snowflakes from When It's Cold Outside and snowman from Doodlecharms and the sentiment from Winter Frolic. I also used DS to easily create my mats using George and Basic Shapes. I basted the snowman and snowflakes with glue from my Zig pen (I prefer the chisel tip) and then dusted the Diamond Dust over it to give it a glistening effect. The gems on the snowman are adhered using my iRoc tool. I glued rhinestones in the center of the snowflakes to give it some bling. The sentiment is embossed with a Cuttlebug folder and highlighted with chalk from Then Stencil Collection. Volia!!
The Blog Candy:
Do deviate from the Love Theme for just one second - I thought I'd share with you some items to correspond with this project! For the lucky winner, I am sharing a sample size of the Diamond Dust and a cute winter stamp that was so cute, I bought two for I could share one! (the stamp is used, but it's in great shape.)
For this give-a-way, please be sure to follow my blog, leave a comment letting me know about your "Cold Outside" layouts or projects. The way the crazy weather has been, we all probably have more stories to tell than we would like. If you have a blog, please link it as well.
If we hit 56 followers by this Friday, stay tuned for Cricut Cartridge give-a-ways!

ReplyDeleteSuper cute LO, I haven't done any wintry LOs this season yet. I can't really complete LO without pictures, maybe I should use my scraps and create a card. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteVery cute layout, TFS...I am a new follower and enjoying your site.
ReplyDeleteGreat Cards love your work.. Come by my blog and leave a comment and sign my guestbook.. I am Follower thanks for asking me.
ReplyDeleteI am follower #60 so you are past your #56!!!
ReplyDeleteLove your LO. I did a 2 page LO "Fun in the Snow" only problem is it wasn't fun shoveling it. We got 30" day after Christmas and so I have different pictures on the page, one of my mailbox but you don't see the pole...it looks like the mailbox is sitting on the snow. The car...or what was the car. (I am sure you get the idea)...Last one was the snow blower but the snow was way deeper than the blower was tall. Of course the page was embellished with flakes and snowmen.
Sorry I don't have a blog I only put them in my group's photo section.
Fantastic job....love the sparkle.

aawww!! he's adorable and all the glitz just adds to that.love your layout. it's simple not cluttering the page up even with all the techniques you used.thanks for having a vlog candy giveaway. our exitement here is we're getting real snow for the third time this year. it's not supposed to snow here. i made some cards this year with teddys in sweaters with tiny snowflakes and glitter. i don't know if i could do a snow layout or card without some kind of sparkle any more. it just works!
ReplyDeletei forgot my email address.
