DOUBLE FLAP FUN FOLD CARD

THANKS FOR STOPPING BY MY BLOG!

My name is Nedine. I am the lead designer for Craft Lounge Creations.

Most of my artwork will feature cards using Stampin’ Up! Products as that I am an independent demonstrator who loves the color coordination of their products along with the excellent quality as well.

I am always trying to challenge myself when it comes to crafting! I am not sure of the "proper" name for this card but I call it a double flap fun fold card. A crafty friend showed me how to make it and I'm hooked! I think it nicely showcases the Design a Daydream designer series paper which is new in the 2022-2023 Stampin' Up! catalog. The card is so fun and simple to make. I think that is why it has moved up to the top of one of my favorite cards!

On the front, the card design features a belly band that anchors a sentiment.
When you make the card, you’ll want to ensure that the belly band fits loosely so it can adequately slide on the card. The belly band measures 1” x 12”.
Note, you can make it a bit thicker if you like.

Three shapes from the Stylish Shape bundle adorn my belly band.  I’m really loving these new dies!  If you haven’t checked them out, then definitely plan on it!
For the visible end of the belly band, you can flag it if you like or make it meet in the center under your sentiment.  The choice is yours!
For my belly band, I added a 1/4” DSP layer for some extra pizzazz!

 Let’s talk about these flaps!
You’ll want to cut two squares that measure 3 1/2” x 3 1/2”.
The key is to use a double sided paper that is equally pretty on both sides!  That’s why Stampin’ Up! Paper is so wonderful for its versatility!
The squares are scored in half from end point to end point.
I turned the squares to make them diamonds and used Tombow glue to secure them to the back of the vertical card that measures 4” x 10”, scored at 5”.
To get the “flap”, you’ll want to be sure to only apply glue to one half of the diamond - from end point to score line!  Remember to use your bone folder to get a nice crisp crease!
For my card base, I used a piece of Rich Razzleberry.  I love this elegant color!
Then, I layered a piece of the DSP from the Design a Daydream paper.  I tend to use quarter inch borders so my DSP layer is 3 3/4” x 4 3/4”.
(For the inside, I also cut a piece of Basic White at 3 3/4” x 4 3/4”.)

On the inside of my card, I used the coordinating Rich Razzleberry ink to stamp an image from the Hand Penned Petals stamp set.  I felt this image nicely echoed the flower images on the DSP layer.
The card is then reinforced with a back piece that measures 4 1/4” x 5 1/4”.
This finished card is slightly smaller than an A2 card and will fit inside of an A2 envelope.

Card Measurements:
Belly Band:1” x 12”
Vertical card base: 4” x 10”, scored at 5”
Flaps: (2) 3 1/2 x 3 1/2”
Back: 4 1/4” x 5 1/4”

If you have any questions about this card, I’ll be happy to help answer them!
If you do not yet have a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator, I’d love to be yours!
Also, please know that there are great incentives to become a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator - I support my own habit is my reason of being a demo!  LOL
