Love! It’s in the Air!

Love! It’s definitely in the air!

Here we are at January 31 already! The last day of the first month in a whole new decade! Can you believe it? So it is super fitting that I would be thinking about Love and Valentine’s Day and just cherishing those around us.

I belong to a swap group and this month I hosted a kit swap. The elements from my kit teamed up to create this super fun card. I’m biased but I love the layers that it features. In addition, a crafty friend inspired me by a card sketch that she posted as a challenge. I thought the kit and the sketch were the perfect combination of everything fun to celebrate the month of love!

Using one of my Valentine Card Kit original creations and the sketch, I created this 5x7 card! Typically, I shy away from printed paper but this card heals up two printed layers of the red on red and then black on white coupled with the X’s & O’s embossed layer anchor the card. The heart ribbon punch teamed up with the newest heart punches from Stampin’ Up to include some really cute embellishments. You can’t see it very well but the red heart is a scalloped heart using red glimmer paper for a bit of extra sparkle. The gray ribbon tied into a super cute bow continues the sparkly shine!

As always, I appreciate you stopping by my blog.  Please be sure to spread love and hug your loved ones tight!

Happy New Year! January NC Demos Blog Hop

Welcome to my post for this month's NC Demos Blog Hop! I hope you are enjoying this month's projects and getting lots ideas for your own fabulous projects!

My mind is blown that it is not only a new year but a new decade!  I’m thankful as to how I’ve grown and evolved over the years, including my sense of all things crafty!  I’m so excited to be joining the NC Demos in another round of our blog hop!  In welcoming 2020, our theme is all about celebrations!

I’ve created a card with you based upon my own form of celebration. This beautiful card actually showcases not one, not two, but three of Stampin’ Up’s beautiful stamp sets. For the sentiment, the greeting hails from the Forever Lovely Stamp set.  The circle border around the stamp set was created by using the Swirly Frames border set and it was die cut using one of the layering circles.  Next, the daisy embellishment and the stamped background come from the Daisy Lane stamp set and the medium daisy punch was featured.  The colors that I choose for this card are Rich Razzlebury for the base and the sentiment, Pacific Point is used on the frame, Old Olive adds a touch of interest with the stamped ferns and adjoining embossed paper.  I love creating with elements and layers in my card creations.  The Hammered Metal embossing folder creates texture on the Old Olive sheet of paper.  While the leaves created with the Sprig punch ads yet another wonderful elegant layer for this card.  I think the color combo of Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive and White is just so majestic!

I appreciate you stopping by!  Up next, please visit the blogs of these lovely ladies and their beautiful creations!

Life doesn’t have to be complicated

Hello and thanks for stopping by for another installment in the Craft Lounge Creations journey!

I often lament that simple things should not be hard.  This is a life principle that seemingly is easier said than done.  In creating this swap card for the recent OnStage events, I want a Clean and Simple (CAS) card that showcased Stampin’ Up products in a beautiful yet straightforward manner.  I think this card hits the nail on the head.

It features a double layer of black card stock, embossed with the wonderful Tufted 3D Embossing Folder (EF).  The sentiment from the Dandelion Wishes Stamp set is showcased on the Stitched Rectangle Framelits.  The clear Faceted Gem adds simple elegance to the card.

If I were to make this card again, I could add a pop of color by sponging ink into the background.
However, I like it just how it is - clean and simple!
