Sunburst card

Ok, Ok, I admit....I'm a serious student of You Tube university!  Before there was Pinterest, there was You Tube.  Pinterst + You Tube + Face Book, oh my goodness....talk about creativity overload.  There are so many great inspirational pieces and talented crafters out there in cyberspace.  I'm blessed and honored to have meet a few crafty friends in person.  I stand in awe at their creativity and uniqueness.  I feel that I'm just a novice on this creative journey, but you know what?  I'm having fun.  My latest passion (addiction) is becoming card-making.  When I first started scrapbooking, that was it - I was a scrapbooker.  I didn't have time for cards.  Now that time is short, life is busier than ever and I'm stretch 200 ways until 8th Tuesday of forever, card-making has been a quick and necessary release.  When I craft, I'm transported to another world.  A world that is unlocked by a combination of You Tube and the creative genius shared by my cyber friends!  :-)

This card was inspired by a You Tube video shared by DO Stamping.  She provides a wonderful step-by-step tutorial on how to make this awesome card.  I'm telling you, try this card and you'll be hooked!  Only reason I didn't make more is because it's 1am and I am NOT off tomorrow for Veteran's day.

If I say so myself, these cards are super cute!   It's fun creating with someone or something in mind!
I teamed up some black and white strips of paper created by The Paper Studio.  These were purchased last year at Hobby Lobby.  I pulled some scraps out of my scrap box for the base of the Star Burst and the letters.  I opened up my new Expressions Thinlets from Stampin' Up and got to work!   The base of my card is just an 8.5 x 11" white piece of cardstock that I split in half at the 5.5" mark.  (You want to know a secret/  I pick up my card stock at my local office supply store for the base of white cards.  It is more economical.)
Next, I watched DO Stamping's You Tube video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qU9b2aIy2-M) and walked through the instructions.  She makes it super easy.

Here's what I came up with - two cards that were relatively quick and simple!  Thanks for looking!

Fall card

Hello?!?!  Who's there?  Oh, I think it's my mojo knocking.  It may be returning to me!

Here's a quick card I made using my new Gently Falling stamp set from Stampin' Up.

As a disclaimer, I am NOT a stamper, but I do like the look of nice cards!

So much fun! Envelope Punch Board.

I guess I'm like other crafters in many ways.  We may see a post by a crafty friend "enabling" us regarding the latest sale or newest fad.   I'm not as bad as I was, but still very guilty!

It was over the summer when I saw someone had posted about the We Are Memory Keepers Envelope Punch board - there is also a version manufactured in conjunction with Stampin' Up.  (And oh, Stampin' Up is my newest passion thanks to my friend Kim.  Although, I keep saying, I'm NOT a Stamper.  Truly I'm not!)  Ok, I digressed.

So in addition to learning to make envelopes, I wanted to see "what else" could my punch board do?  I've been hearing so much hype about it, I wanted to see what it was all about.  So, I went to school.  School being You Tube University and found a project.   It looked  hard, but it really wasn't.  The tutorial I watched and the punch board made it easy-peasy.   I made my own adaptations but in a nut-shell, you'll want to start with a 6.5' x 8" sheet of double sided paper.

On the short side, score at 1 1/2", 3", 4 1/2" and 6".  Make these folders crisper with your bone folder.

On the longer side, punch every fold at the 2" mark.  You'll want to punch on the both the left and right sides.  Eight punches in total.

Once your punches are done, you'll want to score at 1 1/2", 2" and 2 1/2" on both the left and right sides.

Around the punch marks, you'll want to fold these like a valley and then adhere that puppy together!

Decorate and you're DONE!

More, Fancier Journals!!! :-)

I'm back with more journal creations using Stampin' Up's Secret Garden collection.  I teamed up my Stickles, Sizzix, Big Shot and some other doodads to create these!  I made journals for the ladies in my Sunday School class as well as shared a set with my Mom and Sister when they came to visit.  These are so much fun to make!!  I really need to thank Kim P. for the inspiration and for "enabling" my stamping.  I'm REALLY not a stamper!  Really, I'm not!

Oh, I lost my mind!!!

So, one of my LSS's was having a HUGE, dirt cheap sale.  I saw embossing folders and grabbed 1/2 of what they had to offer.  I mean, I did leave "some" for someone else.  I was thinking of me and you when I scooped these up.  I've sorted the folders into bundles.  I've included links to each of the folders in the bundle.  If you are interested in a bundle, send me a message.  It's only $2 / bundle plus cost of shipping.  I know I can fit up to 9 folders in a small priority mail box.  ;-)

Just a little note.....thank you journals!

August has been a tumultuous month.  My personal hero and protector entered into Heaven's gates.  With my Father's passing, so many friends and family members have been wonderful supporters.  Here are examples of the "Thank You Journals" I made.  I used the Stampin' Up Pansy punch and related stamps, Sizzix dies, ribbon and a notepad.  I have my friend, Kim, to thank for the inspiration.

A foray into a new adventure....JEWELRY!!

About one year ago, while shopping, I inadvertently stumbled into another creative avenue - this being creating jewelry!  While I'm still very much a novice with so much to learn, I enjoy it and enjoy sharing my creations with others.

Along this journey, I meant a beautifully spirited lady named Tamiah.  She oozes creativity and positivity from her pores.  Through our discussions, Tamiah encouraged me to "stop giving my stuff away and turn this into a business."  And while it will not be my main hustle, it is fun and exciting to share my creations with others.

On July 13th, Tamiah hosted a Natural Hair Meet-Up which showcased several vendors including my Beautifully Exquisite jewelry line.  Here's some pictures from the event!

This is the jewelry set that I donated for the IANT raffle!  Oh la la!
